President's Corner
The good news is it’s done! All preparations are complete for the 112th Annual Summer Convention of the IOMSA. The details of the technical program are finalized and the social program is right on schedule. Now for the bad news, if the San Antonio Spurs make it to the NBA finals, (which they are slated to do), the finals will be the same weekend as our convention. This means that hotel rooms in San Antonio will be at a premium including our hotel. Please make your reservations ASAP. As of April 5th, 38 rooms of our 75-room block have been taken.
I am in the process of compiling a PowerPoint presentation of past conventions and past members. If you have any old photographs that you would like to contribute, please e-mail them to me and I will do my best to include them.
We will be having our vendor forum again this year as well as tabletop display space at the meeting. If you are interested, please contact me at this e-mail address: president@iomsa.org
In closing, I would like to highlight one of our speakers this year. His name is Jim Olson, and he is the past chief of counter-intelligence at the Central Intelligence Agency. His topic is “The CIA and The War on Terror.” I understand that he has some very interesting stories to tell.
